Back to School ... Disney Style!

Well summer '17 flew by, faster then some other years. Now with tomorrow being back to school I have put together a couple staple pieces to have for your first month back!

Lets start with this super simple baseball tee! First I bought this shirt from Ardene, it was 70% off and came up to $3.60, I love to cut of the neck (scoop neck) along with the rounded bottom, this takes away from the "boxy" t shirt look. I paired this shirt with a crop top that has the criss cross straps, adds a little extra flair.

Lets Make it!

Items you will need:

- Shirt

- Freezer Paper

- Exacto Knife

- Fabric Paint

- Sponge Brush

- Card Board

- Iron

First, draw or print out a stencil you would like to cut out of your freezer paper. With the shiny side of the freezer paper down begin to cut out your stencil, remember the parts that get cut out are the ones that will have fabric paint on.

I went super simple and cut out a Mickey head!

Next you need to place the piece of cardboard in the middle of the shirt. This ensures the paint does not go through the front of the shirt and onto the back, as that would look awful!

Next: Iron the stencil down remembering to have the shiny side of the freezer paper down! This shiny side will adhere to the fabric acting as a sticker!

Do not use to much pressure when applying or dabbing the fabric paint onto the shirt, this could cause it to lift off the fabric and the paint can bleed under the stencil.

Allow the fabric paint to fully air dry. You can try to touch it without getting any paint on your hands. Once fully dry, feel free to pull off the stencil to reveal your perfect Mickey baseball tee!

Tip: If you are using the speedball brand I have shown here, when your fabric paint is fully dry to the touch and no wet areas any where pull the stencil off and throw it in the dryer (ALONE) and put it on regular heat for about 10 minutes. This will allow it to fully set into the fabric.

For other fabric paints, read the instructions on how to heat set your paint for longer lasting wear between washing!

I cannot wait to see your versions of this shirt! Send me your pictures to be featured!
